The key scientific challenges are the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Find a biochemical substitute <\/strong>to the well-established chemical ozonolysis<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Development of chemical probes <\/strong>to screen Nature\u2019s huge sequence space efficiently and accurately.<\/li>\n
  • Novel biocatalyst: broad substrate scope<\/strong>, use a mild<\/strong>, cheap<\/strong> and sustainable oxidant <\/strong>(O2<\/sub>, air).<\/li>\n
  • Gain a deeper understanding<\/strong> of structure-function relationships <\/strong>for alkene cleaving NISEs.<\/li>\n
  • Easily expressible in a classical production host like E. coli <\/em>& show a high process stability<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
